Day 3, Friday, February

Today would be the first
day of showing and Wendy & crew were busy getting
dogs ready for the 2:30 pm judging. Richard and Pat
Martello were off to Madison Square Gardens to do
a Shih Tzu breed presentation for the Dog Judges Association
Of America. Jody was off to the Meadowlands in New
Jersey to show her Springer Spaniel and would hopefully
return for Shih Tzu judging. The judging of Shih Tzu
went very well for us with Wendy winning Winners Dog
and a 5 point major with one of our 11 month old puppies.
Jody went Winners Bitch and a for 5 point major with
a mature open female from Thailand. Jody then went
Best Of Breed with 'Colin' Am Can Ch Wenrick's Doll
Collection. Wendy Howard's "Emmy" Am Can
Champion Winterholme's Hollywood Award was Best Opposite
handled by Mandy Carlson. Jenny McClintock also won
the breed with her Pug Special.....a great day.

For dinner we were off
with 13 revelers in tow to celebrate a great day at
a Brazilian restaurant called Plataforma on 49th street.
The delicious meal started with several rounds of
pitchers of the house and Brazilian specialty drink
Caipirinha. The potent drink set the stage for a rather
rude and raucous evening as we 'let our hair down'
after a day of hard work. This unique restaurant featured
waiters visiting your table throughout the meal with
freshly prepared meat on skewers, poultry and fish.
There was also an expansive salad and hot dish condiment
bar available. It was a definite feast and diets were
forgotten in the quest to sample all the delights.
It was then back to the
hotel where we all gathered in our room to watch the
video again of Shih Tzu breed judging and relive the
moments all over again. We retired late into the night
and looked forward to another day of judging tomorrow
feeling that we had already won more than our share
and would have to be content with whatever wins we
would receive 'up or most probable down' in the next
few days.
