Unfortunately the New Jersey Specialty
scheduled for Sunday is
cancelled because of a blizzard in NY & NJ.
Day 5- Day off because
of weather.
The decision to cancel
the Specialty was a wise one. We woke up Sunday morning
to almost a foot of snow on the ground and still snowing
and 30-50 mph winds. Here is a quick photo from our
hotel room.
We headed over to the
New Yorker and enjoyed a lazy breakfast before doing
some shopping and watching the Yorkie Specialty for
awhile. It was then back to the Hotel Pennsylvania
to exercise the dogs again before spending the afternoon
shopping at Macy's. Jody & Jenny had a ball...dad
Richard got the bill !!!!!!!!!!!!
For dinner it was off to Mrs. Dorothy
Cherry's at 50 Central Park West, New York for what
is billed as a "Celebration of Westminster".
The beautiful apartment, impeccably decorated, with
a spectacular view of Central Park was filled with
guests who were lavished with gourmet food. My favorites
were the delicious rack of lamb, roast duck, baked
salmon, mushroom tortellini, salads and wide assortment
of vegetables. This was all topped off with a wide
selection of libations served at the well stocked
bar. Every room in the apartment was decorated and
laid out to accommodate the comfort of all and a warm
cozy environment was created by the gracious host
"Dottie" as she is know to her friends.
We were driven back
to our hotel by the town car provided by Mrs. Cherry
after 'schmoozing' with the many guests who included
breeders, exhibitors, judges and other dog enthusiasts.
The party continued in our room as we continued to
'celebrate' with more drink and cavorting with various
friends who wandered into our open door.
